ANM Waxed Sportsman's Jacket- Black
The ANM Sportsman's Jacket is, as the name would suggest, a piece inspired by classic sporting/ hunting garments from the 20th century. This piece originally started its life named the "hunting jacket" however, since we opted not to include the oversized game pocket often seen on hunting specific jackets of similar style, we choose instead to give this jacket the more universal nomenclature of "Sportsman." The name of Sportsman is also a nod to the area where it was designed, Sportsman's Paradise.
This piece is constructed from an 8.25oz wax canvas perfect for shielding away the damp and misty conditions that these jackets were often chosen for. A lightweight flannel liner from Japan adds a touch of additional warmth while keeping bulk down and a Japanese corduroy collar endures maximum comfort against the skin. Other details include 2-way cargo pockets that are gusseted for any small accoutrements that need to be stowed. Another unique detail are the inclusion of what we are calling "wader" pockets that keep the arms up high and close to the body for additional warmth and to keep the arms above brush while walking.
We kept the fit on this jacket roomy enough for ease of layering but tailored enough to not look sloppy when only paired with a tee. The result is a highly functional piece that not only will hold its own in harsh sporting environments, but is sleek enough to fit perfectly into a modern stylistic setting.
