The U.S. Army Denim Working Jacket (BR15302) from Buzz Rickson’s is a precise reproduction of the front-opening denim work coat adopted by the U.S. Army in 1940.
Evolving from earlier pullover designs, this version was developed for ease of wear, featuring a full front opening for quick on-and-off functionality. With the shift in design, the layout was also updated—chest pockets were replaced with waist-level flap pockets, better suited to a jacket intended to be worn untucked.
Constructed from lightweight, washed 100% cotton denim, the fabric offers a soft, broken-in feel while maintaining the durability expected of military workwear. Metal buttons reinforce the utilitarian construction and period-correct detailing.
Made in Japan with Buzz Rickson’s commitment to historical accuracy, this jacket captures a transitional moment in military design—combining practicality with the timeless character of indigo denim.
