The Buzz Rickson's BR15340 N-1 Navy Deck Jacket faithfully reproduces the classic U.S. Navy deck jacket issued to ship crews during the Second World War and Korean War era. The N-1 was originally designed as part of a matching cold-weather uniform, pairing a durable outer shell with insulating pile lining to protect sailors against the harsh conditions encountered at sea.

The jacket is constructed from 100% cotton jungle cloth, a dense grosgrain fabric known for its rugged character and resistance to wind and wear. Inside, a 50% wool and 50% alpaca pile lining provides substantial warmth and insulation, making the N-1 a dependable choice for colder weather.

This navy blue version reflects the N-1 design adopted in 1944, preceding the more widely distributed khaki model introduced in 1945. The two versions differ in several construction details, including the treatment of the cuffs, lining loops, hem drawstring eyelets, and underarm ventilation eyelets.

Period-inspired hardware completes the reproduction, including a nickel-finished Talon zipper made to military specifications, MIL-SPEC urea buttons, and a Navy Department label. Meticulously reproduced in Japan, the BR15340 captures the practical design and enduring character of classic American naval outerwear.
