The World War II Denim Blouse in Indigo from Buzz Rickson’s is a historically driven piece that reflects the resource-conscious design of wartime garments.

Modeled after simplified denim jackets produced during WWII, the blouse features reduced detailing in response to material shortages—most notably the removal of pocket flaps and a shift from a five-button to a four-button front. These adjustments speak to the practical constraints of the era while giving the piece a distinct, stripped-down character.

Cut from Buzz Rickson’s original 13.6oz selvedge denim, the fabric has a coarse texture that’s built to fade with wear, developing a strong patina over time. White and pink selvedge detailing, iron donut buttons with an arabesque pattern, and copper rivets reinforce the vintage construction. A vegetable-tanned deerskin patch adds a final heritage touch.

The “FOR THE DURATION” label references wartime production changes, while also tying into Buzz Rickson’s fictional backstory as a WWII-era contractor recognized for excellence.
