The Buzz Rickson BR65622 Set-In Parka reproduces the classic cotton athletic sweatshirts that emerged as everyday American sportswear, eventually replacing heavier wool knit garments as a practical way to absorb sweat and provide warmth during physical activity. The style was quickly adopted by the military and military academies, where sweatshirts became readily available through PX stores across the United States.

The 100% cotton fabric is knitted on a traditional loopwheel machine using uneven tension, creating the distinctive softness and relaxed texture associated with vintage sweatshirts. This slow, traditional knitting method produces a fabric with excellent comfort and a natural character that only becomes better with wear.

Construction follows vintage athletic techniques, with a four-needle flat-seamer used throughout for durable, low-profile seams that remain comfortable against the skin. A classic hood and front kangaroo pocket add to the functionality of the piece.
