I bought a watch cap in the '70's that was a triple roll, tight knit wool cap and then lost it sometime in the early '80s. Ever since then I have searched for a replacement, and only finding poly blend caps, and single layer caps. This is a double roll cap and is as close as I have ever found to my old favorite. It looks fantastic with my OD IH m65, and my IH type III, indigo jacket. I wore it on a walk through the winter woods in 20F, with a 15mph wind and my ears stayed warm, no hood. (YMMV) Without a nob on the top, it fits easily under a hood if you are really cold. I have one from Dehen1920 and it is very similar in knit and sizing and warmth. Am planning on getting another IH cap of a different color just for fun. All in all, a great warm cap.
