The Fiction Romance Work Shirt in Indigo Stripe from Sugar Cane is a detailed reinterpretation of vintage workwear, combining European textile influence with classic American construction.

Cut from a 6oz striped fabric, the material recreates the rare textiles found in vintage French pullover shirts. Woven with five different yarn colors—off-white, light gray, saxe blue, purple, and indigo—the fabric has a layered, nuanced appearance. Select light gray yarns are finished with black kasuri dyeing, adding subtle irregularity and depth throughout.

The design follows a traditional American work shirt format, featuring two flap chest pockets and side gussets for durability. Metal “cat’s eye” buttons with lightly peeling navy paint reinforce the vintage character, adding a worn-in feel from the start.
