This work shirt is crafted from a jacquard-woven fabric featuring the traditional narihirabishi goldfish motif. The textile is a special double weave that layers two rope-dyed indigo combinations—dark indigo with white yarn, and a lighter indigo with white yarn. The goldfish and water chestnut patterns are woven with the darker threads, allowing them to gradually emerge as the indigo fades with wear. Built on a classic work-shirt silhouette, it features flap pockets, nut buttons, and sturdy triple-stitched construction.

The narihirabishi pattern is one of Japan’s oldest decorative motifs, documented as early as the 7th century. Rich with symbolism, it represents prosperity for future generations and continued good health.
